This duplex Alicante is the result of good work of its owners, who joined two old floors to create an open house, full of light. The removal of partitions and the exclusive use of white color and furniture coatings have been the key.
The history of this house could be a novel chapters. One of the owners had a residence in the center of Alicante, in a flat located in an Art Deco building of the twenties. When she met her current partner agreed to put the house up for sale, and then they decided to acquire and merge the two houses. The result is magnificent: a light and airy duplex with a very modern interior.
The reform that took place was a radical transformation of space. The houses had a classic layout, too compartmentalized, the owners decided to modernize and adapt to the lifestyle of a couple. Spacious and airy wanted to facilitate mobility, especially considering that the houses had a rectangular floor that was somewhat close.
To achieve this, they threw all the partitions that were on the floor and created a completely empty volume. Only retained the original beams of iron, painted and left in sight for them to remember the last anniversary of the construction.
On the ground located below the living room, dining room, kitchen and small toilet. Upstairs is the stronghold of the bedroom, bathroom and a spacious dressing room. To join the two heights, the owners designed a ladder flown on two flights which gives character to the house and gives it a sculptural air to the whole.
The absence of partitions has led also to the natural light to flow unhindered. It flows from one end to another of the housing, where windows are located, and clarifies the intermediate environments.
To further enhance the brightness of the duplex, was chosen as a star of white spaces. This tone not only covers the walls and the floor paved with an epoxy resin with high gloss finish that gives continuity to the environment-but the tapestries and furniture are also completely white. Only modules include kitchen, steel, and color notes that put several works of art.
As for the furniture, has chosen not to reload the settings and just put the pieces, most made to measure according to the design of the owners, who have opted to current popular models of straight lines and refined.
